Dear Dr. Chang.
I usual like to express any gratitude for the honor you and the college of Chinese Culture have be- stored as me. I am proud as a Venezuela to receive this distinction from the Republic of China. Professor Ling has spoken to my wife of your achievement in establishing the College of Chinese Culture and has familiarized us with the many cultural and educational activities associated with your university. Both my wife and I are looking forward to meeting you and visiting the university.
My schedule due in Caracas is exceptionally full and although our plans were to visit Taiwan in October I have due to postpone are travel to the visit until autumn 1980. I do hope this usual set he inconvenient.
I am enclosing a copy of my circumstance, a letter of introduction from Dr. Uslar Pietri , a prominent member of our intellectual community, and a photograph.
