Dear Dr. Marques:

It is with great pleasure to write to you to inquire about the possibility of establishing sisterhood between your University and this college.

The College of Chinese Culture is a private institution founded in 1962. It has an enrolment of 16,000 students at present.
In our graduate school we have both M.A. and Ph.D. programs. We have established sisterhood with several foreign universities before. An exchange program between St. John's University in New York and this college has lasted for many years, to exchange graduate students with good result. With a view to promoting international culture interflow, I think that a similar program could be initiated between your university and this college. If my proposal receive your favorable consideration, a more concrete plan could be worked out upon further consultations.
