另外，張其昀在早前寄給黎東方的信表示，建議中國文化學院與美國國際大學進行聯合合作項目，黎東方在此信中表示他將會向William C. Rust發送項目建議原件及其翻譯，若William C. Rust有任何建議回覆，可通過跨太平洋無線電話向張其昀傳遞。

Dear Dr. Rust,
　I am sure you have recuperated by now from your pleasant, but exhausting,trip around the world. How were things going in London and Hongkong?

Both Dr. Chang Chi-yun and my wife had been expecting your arrival at Taipei at the beginning of this month. In fact I had a long distance chat with her across the Pacific discussing the details of a welcoming party for you.

Well, sometime in the near future you will most probably make another such tour. Please, by then, do give us the honor of showing Taiwan to you.

Today I received a letter from Dr. Chang, accompanied with a list of suggestions for a joint project between your University and College of Chinese Culture. I am taking liberty to send you enclosed both the original and its translation.

I shall be exceedingly grateful, dear Dr. Rust, for your comments on those suggestions and will pass them on to Dr. Chang immediately by trans-Pacific radio-phone.
