Dear Dr. Lee:

I am sorry that I was unable to go from London into Hong Kong and that the trip had to be delayed. As I indicated to you when we spoke by telephone, I wired you from London concerning this but apparently, in the labyrinth of Fresno State, it was not received.

I am looking forward to meeting with your people because of the amount of information and insight it will help me to gain. As you know, I do know whether or not any good can come of this in terms of a relationship, but at least the meetings themselves will be well worth the while.

I am sorry if in any way the people who were expecting me were inconvenienced by the necessary delay in my visit.
